Host Hadassah de Boer invites interesting and remarkable people to tell about, discuss and make an effort to solve the problem of the plastic garbage in the oceans: The Plastic Soup. The interviews will be covered with film footage and graphics, illustrating the topics.

• Charles Moore, founder of Algalita Marine Research Foundation and discoverer of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch;
• Michael Braungart, founder of the Cradle to Cradle philosophy;
• Hans Konst, Regional Minister Province of Fryslân;
• Jesse Goossens, writer of a book addressing the Plastic Soup issue, soon to be released;
• Princess Irene van Lippe-Biesterfeld, ambassadress Dolphin Fund;
• Albert de Hoop, Mayor of the Island of Ameland;
• David Osborn, UNEP Coordinator Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA).

ACT Global is launched. Hans Konst, Regional Minister of Province of Fryslân and Albert de Hoop, Mayor of Ameland island talk about the sustainable ambition of the Province of Fryslân and the ′green’ initiatives in the Northern regions of Holland.

The interviews, film fragments and graphics are interlaced with a cultural program of the performers Wende Snijders, Midas Dekkers, Nynke Laverman and Arjen Lubach.

Co-host Isolde Hallensleben mediates in the discussion between all the guests that have been interviewed by Hadassah de Boer and members of the University of Twente assembled in the T-Xchange. In this synthetic environment a start will be made with finding a solution to the problem of oceanic plastic waste.

17:30 - 18:30 Closing session

Toasting to a succesful start of ACT Global in Fryslân. A chance to meet the guests while enjoying drinks and a bite to eat.
