Time2ACT

Time2ACT is an annual media event. This event is for those who care about the destiny of our planet and who want to think in solutions. With innovations from an active cooperation between governments, entrepreneurs and educational and research institutions we can make a difference for a more sustainable existence.
Every year Time2ACT will take place on International Earth Day addressing a specific environmental issue. ACT Global’s search for a convenient truth is made visible for a large and international public.

Broadcasted for a live audience, Time2ACT 2009 is the first in this series of annual event talk shows. ACT Global puts one of the first icons on the international agenda: the Plastic Soup. Time2ACT 2009 was set up as a strong substantive event with interviews, an interactive onstage debate, performances and music. For the onstage debate the T-Xchange module, developed by the University of Twente, was used as moderator. This software supports, speeds up, deepens, and improves complicated decision-making processes and maps these for the general public. During the event an expert group of people discussed the problem of plastic waste in the oceans and tried to find steps towards a solution for this plastic waste.

Time2ACT 2009
was recorded for broadcasting by National Geographic Channel on April 22, International Earth Day.
